Doug Kinsella – Managing Director

Doug Kinsella, a Canadian national, began his career with Baker Hughes in 1995 after graduating with a technical degree in mechanical engineering from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. At Baker Inteq he trained as a product champion and held subsequent roles gaining knowledge in the global coring industry.

In 2000 he joined Corion, in Nisku, Canada where he developed the Corion Express Large bore coring tool that was adaptable to any drilling rig.  The technology transformed Corion into a Canadian coring leader. Five years later, following a period of rapid expansion, Corion was acquired by Reed Hycalog – a subsidiary of Grant Prideco, which was subsequently acquired by NOV. Doug left NOV in 2008 to establish Quest Coring, in Edmonton, Alberta, in 2009.

Under his direction as CEO, the new company quickly established a reputation for exceptional customer service and enhanced core recovery and quality, enjoying rapid growth in Canada and the US. Doug was involved in the development of proprietary technologies QuickCore and QuickCapture – exciting new downhole tools which are now set to revolutionise the oil and gas industry’s approach to core data gathering and management.

In 2010, Quest partnered with Corpro® to deploy its technologies internationally, and was acquired by Reservoir Group in May 2012. As Managing Director of the Group’s enhanced Corpro® business – now the world’s largest coring provider – Doug’s main focus is the continued expansion of Corpro’s advanced technologies and services across the globe.

Doug is married with 3 children. Doug is active in community coaching various sports and holding board positions to support children athletic development.
